Hey Jonathan, great idea! Stripe should take care of currency conversion for us.
I don't fetch the latest values of X (default currency) --> USD, so I wouldn't show it here, especially if Stripe controls it, I don't want to show the incorrect number. Some of these things are best left to the payment provider IMO :)

Bradley Bernard: Fair point!
If I may suggest. For the time being, in lieu of displaying the subscription cost in the users chosen currency, perhaps the subscription cost can explicitly indicate that the amount is in US dollars? I sense that this might be a better user experience for non-US users.
As a non-US user, the expected standard behaviour is that the amount would be in the users local currency, unless explicitly indicated. As a result, when the user is redirected to Stripe, the amount is different than was is indicated on your subscription page. Depending on the country and the current exchange rate, the difference can be staggering for some users.
